Shayla Silva

Shayla Silva from Fairbanks, Alaska joined the Iowa Lakers family this January. The 21 year old loves fried chicken, green beans and homemade mashed potatoes. Her dream is to become a Petroleum Engineer and possibly a CEO of a large oil company. She motivates herself with her favorite quote, "Noone can take your joy unless you give it to them."

Moving all the way to Spencer, Iowa from Fort Worth, Texas for an opportunity to play at the next level is a big decision. For Ruud Gullit Boijseauneau this decision was not all that hard to make. The coaching staff is very excited to have him here and we look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our program. His dream is to one day become a professional soccer player and play for Mexico's national team! Welcome to the Laker family Ruud!!

New Arrival!

Blake Viedenkamp signed with Iowa Lakes Men's Soccer team this January after a semester at Wartburg University. Blake is a central midfielder from Spencer, Iowa and lives for the game of soccer. Blake has a favorite quote from professional Roy Keane, "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail." We are excited to have Blake on our team but more importantly in our Iowa Lakes Soccer Family!!

Introducing 2010 player, Maria Segura

Maria signed with Iowa Lakes Women's Soccer this January and is already making herself at home. The forward from Waco, TX dreams are to be a professional soccer player after her time playing in college. When asked her favorite quote, she responds with Collin Powell's statement of "A dream doesn't become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work."

Looking Forward

As the second semester is getting rolling, we have plenty to be thankful for here at Iowa Lakes. We have 2 new members of the Women’s Soccer team as well as 5 new members to the Men’s Squad! The soccer program is turning into quite the family and we couldn’t be more excited!

There are many things going on this semester that as a program we are looking forward to. Our Iowa Lakes team scarves have been shipped today! The coaching staff is working out details on the Watermelon Ride! and the teams are starting off season workouts. Everything is going great and soccer is thriving here at Iowa Lakes
